About the Role:

As a PLC Applications Engineer, you’ll be responsible to develop PLC Programs which in conjunction with other software modules result in turnkey applications which provide our customers a competitive edge in the market.
Reporting directly to the Application Software Engineer Team Leader, you will work closely with key stakeholders including Customers, other Engineering teams, Sales and Marketing, and professionals across various departments within the ANCA Group.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop PLC programs and supporting modules (Motion Profiles and User Interfaces) that achieve all customer requirements.
  • Elicit requirements for application logic and workflows from customers and Product Managers.
  • Explore opportunities to add additional innovative features above and beyond those explicitly being requested, which can delight the customer.
  • Ensure that software, frameworks, and user interface elements are modular, to enable ease of reuse, modification, and extension.
  • Provide Field Application Engineers, Product Managers, and Sales Personal with in-depth knowledge of features and workflows within developed Application Software products.
  • Contribute to product roadmaps.
  • Support Field Application Engineers and Aftermarket Technicians with diagnostic procedures for root causing field issues.
  • Provide pre-sales assistance to Sales Personal and Field Application Engineers on possible solutions to customer requirements.
 
Key Competencies:
  • Tertiary degree in relevant Engineering field(s).
  • Experience with programming PLCs (IEC 61131-3).
  • Knowledge of automation architectures and technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in interfacing directly with customers.
  • Experience in programming in C#/WPF an advantage
  • Experience in User Interface design an advantage
  • Fluent in Mandarin (written and/or oral) an advantage.
