We are currently seeking a Platform Engineer to join our team located in our Bayswater Head Office.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Hardware Engineering Team Leader this exciting opportunity will see you select, design, test and maintain our CNC PC-based embedded hardware platform. You will also provide Operating System configuration and build support to ensure reliable operation of the CNC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select and evaluate computer hardware for use in embedded applications.
  • Validation of the hardware to satisfy design requirement including EMC, CE, RoHS and reliability.
  • Build Windows OS / RTOS for the selected hardware.
  • Maintain, validate and deploy to production the developed OS image.
  • Conduct real time performance testing.
  • Prepare documentation for distribution to end users so they can resolve frequently needed maintenance or configuration issues.
  • Antivirus compatibility reviews as required as well as establishing a technical partnership with key security suppliers.
  • Analyse SW/HW incompatibility and reliability issues as raised by ANCA Motion Customer Operations staff and provide root cause analysis.

Required skills & knowledge:
  • Tertiary degree in relevant IT or Engineering field(s) and 5+ years of experience in related role.
  • Knowledge of Industrial PC hardware.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems (including configuration).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to meet deadlines and organise work priorities.
  • Demonstrate a flexible and “can do” attitude.
  • Able to work on agreed initiatives with minimal support.
  • Realtime operating systems – Desirable.
  • Project Management skills – Desirable.
