Product Manager - ANCA Motion

Location: Melbourne, Australia

Department: Marketing

Reporting through to the Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing products by identifying potential customers, conducting market research, generating product requirements, and creating  product roadmaps and marketing strategies.

Responsibilities of the position include;

Product Management:

  • Responsible for product lifecycle management from product conception and introduction into the marketplace to decline and withdrawal.
  • Brings new products to market by analysing proposed product requirements and product development programs, preparing return-on-investment analysis, establishing time schedules with engineering and project teams.
  • Responsible for producing and evolving detailed Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) for the Hardware products portfolio.
  • Works with Engineering and Applications Product Manager to set the priorities for product development.
  • Constantly engages key stakeholders and is a key stakeholder for engineering projects.
  • Drive cost control and cost downs on the product(s).

Product Marketing:

  • Defines customers needs and desires by conducting research inorder to obtain market information.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product changes.
  • Assesses market competition by comparing ANCA Motions products to competitors products and performs gap analysis.
  • Gains market share by working with sales manager to develop product sales strategies.
  • Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field sales people and evaluating sales call results
  • Sets the 5 year hardware product roadmap for ANCA Motion.
  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data, reviewing production and sales costs, anticipating volume, costing, special and customised orders.
  • Oversee Sales Action Requests (SAR) related to assigned products.
  • Oversee CRM adoption and accurate revenue forecast of relevant products.

Product Promotion:

  • Plan marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
  • Responsible for product related content for online marketing including web site content, E-sales activities, and other digital marketing channels.
  • Responsible for product related content for printed material relating to products including brochures.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining commercial relationships with suppliers and partners for key products and technologies.
  • Identify potential partners to expand product portfolio on alignment with strategic direction.

The successful candidate will ideally hold the below skills, qualifications, and attributes;

  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s) or an equivalent of 3-5 years in related marketing and engineering roles. Wide knowledge of the relevant market landscape.
  • Familiarity with the application of CNC Control systems on Machine Tools.
  • Familiarity of Servo Drives and motors, cables and accessories.
  • Knowledge of Product Management tools such as Aha! an advantage
  • Understanding of CRM tools such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Sales Force an advantage.
  • Thinks at the big picture level, entertains wide-ranging possibilities in developing a vision for the future.
  • Sets clearly defined objectives and priorities and operates accordingly, reviewing and adjusting as required.
  • Prepare complex briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language, edits written communications to ensure they contain the information necessary to achieve their purpose and meet audience needs.
  • Proactive and self starting, seizes opportunities and acts upon them, takes responsibility for own actions.
