Stores and Logistics Manager

ANCA are currently looking for an experienced Stores and Logistics Manager to join the Supply Chain team in our Bayswater Head Office.

Reporting through to the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager the Stores and Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing the stores and shipping functions to enable the efficient and effective delivery of products and materials to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities of the role include;
People Management 

  • Monitor and review team performance and behavior in areas such as productivity, attendance, OH&S, work quality and general morale
  • Mentoring, coaching and development of direct reports
  • Implement job rotation, multi skilling and training where appropriate
  • Monitor, maintain and participate in safety awareness and activities that encourage cross functional teams that drive safety improvement
  • Communicate company and departmental directional objectives, progress against plans, initiatives, changes and successes
  • Ensure effective improvement plans or disciplinary actions are instigated where work performance does not meet the required standards or department objectives. 
    Stores & Logistics
  • Implement processes, systems and documented procedures that provide efficient, cost effective stores and shipping operations to meet industry standards, and the needs of internal and external customers
  • Review labour planning and utilization daily to ensure required outputs are achievable and have in place contingencies to cover shortcomings
  • Plan and set work priorities for senior operators and supervisors, to achieve departmental plans and objectives
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels to ensure good communications across all functional area’s.
  • Work with 3PL’s to drive efficiencies within ANCA and improve customer experience
  • Work with CI team to drive lean within ANCA Supply Chain
  • Ensure effective induction, training and development is provided to staff and maintain training matrix
  • Plan and make recommendations to improve layout, material flow and any other opportunities
  • Ensure an effective escalation system is in place to highlight any material shortages
  • Ensure compliance with company policy, procedures and work instructions
  • Ensure all products are supplied in full and on time to production and external Customers
  • Maintain quality standards by contributing to ANCA’s quality systems 
    New Product Introduction/SAR’s
  • Participate as an active member of the New Product Introduction and SAR process covering projects
  • Communication and seek feedback from the production team on project build status
  • Highlight any accuracy issues identified through the launch process to the engineering group 
    Cost Reductions
  • Cost reduction targets will form part of the PBO KPI for the department, as set by the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Make recommendations where costs savings can be achieved – this is to include total cost. 
    Reporting and system Management 
  • Update MRP system policies as required to achieve stock accuracy targets
  • Manage the relevant KPIs and report regularly on stores and shipping performance  
    The successful candidate must hold the below skills, qualifications and competencies;
  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s), in supply and logistics management or an equivalent of 6-8 years in a logistics role
  • Proven capability to implement change for the improvement of the functional area or company
  • Sound understanding of logistics management systems and processes
  • Has innovative ideas and can translate these into actions
  • Deals with issues comfortably, uses analytical skills to reason through problems
  • Proactive and self-starting, takes responsibility for own actions
  • Negotiates with integrity
  • Makes rational and sound decisions based on a consideration of facts and alternatives,
  • Establishes and maintains relationships
  • Forges useful partnerships with departments
