We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team located in our Bayswater Head Office.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Product Development Team Leader this exciting opportunity will see you implement and support engineering functions that achieve innovative ideas and direction, quality workflows and globally applied technical directions. You will create a collaborative, cohesive and supportive environment for Design Engineering personnel whilst being responsible for the electrical, PLC and integration design and development of quality products. You also be responsible for liaising with branches, customers and operations during the preliminary design stage to accurately determine our customer requirements from a technical perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify accurate and updated Bills of Materials (BOM) in a timely manner for control system and electrical components
  • Verify traceability of ordered, used, and shipped parts by creating accurate Specification Sheets and using diligent BOM management
  • Electrical design of machine control and automation equipment for cost effectiveness, ease of manufacture and optimum reliability, inlcuding (but not limited to); Component selection Electrical Design and Drafting (EPLAN) BOM management Testing/Troubleshooting
  • Development, commissioning and maintenance of PLC and low-level software to optimise machine function and special projects, inlcuding (but not limited to); ANCA PLC (text based, similar to C) as well as C# (.NET) GIT for version/source control of both ANCA’s build system (TeamCity/Jenkins) to deploy changes
  • Lead implementation module based tests, integration tests, and full system tests
  • Verify creation and execution of Test Plans (CVP&R and DVP&R) documenting results and feeding back into the development process Lead in Risk Assessments as part of CE Compliance activities
  • Verify the detailed time estimation and financial analyses in support of projects
  • Verify engineering Requirements documents and design documentation
  • Provides technical guidance (solution level) in Project Team, potentially fulfilling Design Responsible Engineer (DRE) role
  • Create amazing products and services that, at a minimum, satisfy the customer's jobs to be done and create a compelling value proposition
  • Liaise with Branches, Customers and Operations during the preliminary design stage to accurately determine the customer and business requirements from a technical perspective
  • Prepare the detailed time and effort estimation in support of projects Execute high quality work to best practice that meets project milestones and deliverables
  • Use the relevant business processes to guide a value-driven approach to product delivery
  • Provide technical support for Manufacturing and Service Engineers, or other relevant business stakeholders
  • Apply the requirements of the European CE Directives/Regulation (or appropriate Safety/Regulatory standards) throughout the product development process
  • Create necessary data and artefacts for products and services that add value across the entire business 
  • Follow appropriate business system workflows to ensure data integrity, provide continuous improvement and ensure resources are used in an optimised fashion

Required Competencies:

  • Proven technical competency in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems or Mechatronic Engineering, including, but not limited to; Electrical design & drafting Electrical diagnostics PLC Programming Software Development in C, C# or C++ Control theory Safety Function Design
  • Proven comprehension of technical/engineering and design principles, and relevant technologies and their application to machine tool design
  • Proven skills in EPLAN & AutoCAD or other Electrical CAD systems
  • Proven experience in 3S Codesys Proven experience in electrical drafting to XXX standards
  • Proven critical thinking skills for root cause analysis and problem solving
  • Proven practical application of data collection and analysis for scientific decision making
  • Preferred experience in working with robots at integration and programming level
  • Proven ability to autonomously manage small to medium projects, prioritizing tasks and delivering within agreed time frame AMT Engineering 
  • Proven ability to liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders/suppliers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication that enables guidance and mentoring
