Tech Lead - Software Engineer (12 month Contract)

About the Role

ANCA has an opportunity for a Software Technical Lead to join our Engineering team in the Bayswater Head Office. In this role you will be responsible for the design and development of ANCA’s brand new automation solution which utilises the latest autonomous robotic tech.

This exciting new role is the beginning of a completely new team at ANCA. This will see you provide significant contributions to product design, code delivery and setting the direction for the team. This suits an experienced problem solver with intimate knowledge of Java microservices and a big picture thinker that can guide, motivate, develop and lead those around them.

About You

  • You have a product centric mindset and a good grounding in lean and agile practices to guide you in delivering customer value incrementally
  • You understand and apply modern software engineering principles, design patterns and test automation practices to create code that is easy to extend and to understand
  • Backend development in Java is a walk in the park for you. You have extensive experience in design and development of microservices, RESTful APIs and supporting database schemas
  • You have strong track record with Docker containers and preferably have experience deploying them to resource constrained on-premise environments
  • Experience developing smart factory and IIOT solutions is highly regarded
  • Some experience in front end frameworks such as React.js is preferred
  • You are a strong communicator and are as comfortable talking to internal and external stakeholders as you are to your peers
  • You have a collaborative, team-based approach and have experience in mentoring and coaching other team members
